Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan: Cooperation in Mass Media
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan intend to have close cooperation in mass media. Journalists of the two countries plan to create a road map of the information space. This was stated by the Kazakh Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Yerik Utembayev during a meeting with the head of Uzbekistan’s national television and radio company. In return, the head of the Uzbek channel noted that the preparation of the relevant memorandums on cooperation with the Khabar Agency and the Kazakhstan channel is underway. They highlighted the successes of the states in mass media and discussed the possibilities of sharing intellectual TV and radio programs. In the future, the topic of radio broadcasting in two languages will be considered. Currently, there are 13 state TV and 4 radio channels in Uzbekistan. The regional TV and radio companies that master the digital format are working in the regions.

- We will witness the creation of new joint programs which are dedicated to science and special programs about the development of tourism. Most importantly, we create new information space. I wanted to say that 2018 will be a big informational breakthrough in this respect. The possibilities of television and digital technologies are becoming relevant.
Recently, the communication departments of the two countries with the participation of ministers signed two memorandums of understanding. The first memorandum envisages the development of start-up ecosystems and venture financing mechanisms. The second agreement is aimed at expanding business ties in high technologies, as well as further development of the software production and training specialists.
