New air routes to open ahead of EXPO-2017
New flight routes will link Astana to major metropolitan areas. Already this year, the planes will fly from Astana to Dubai, Tel Aviv, Riga, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Ulan Bator. Flights will start as part of Expo-2017, they are designed to increase the flow of tourists in Kazakhstan. Also by 2017, according to the Ministry of Investments and Development, the country will introduce a visa-free regime for residents of 34 OECD countries for 30 days. In addition, the procedure for obtaining the Kazakh visa was streamlined for citizens of 48 countries. All in all, the Astana Expo expects more than two million tourists. According to experts, the main flow of tourists will be the citizens of China, the European Union, the CIS countries, Turkey and India.
