Syria faces catastrophic water shortages
More than 2 million people remain without water in Aleppo, Syria. At least one water pumping station was damaged as a result of fighting. In addition, the station that pumps water to the eastern part of the city was forcefully stopped. According to experts, it might trigger the outbreak of various diseases, as people begin to use dirty water from wells and other sources. Meanwhile, 23 people were killed in air strikes in Aleppo over a few days. Yet more than 140 were injured. Truce in Syria was broken on September 9 after a few incidents.
