MASTERS EXPANSIONED THE SOUVENIRS ASSORTMENT FOR EXPO 2017
Every tourist wants to bring a souvenir from Astana. Visitors are offered a wide range of souvenirs from a piece of art to a simple but eco-friendly item made with love. For instance, this sort of knitted, textile toys. The hobby of making such toys helped Dinara to win the EXPO 2017 souvenirs contest.
DINARA MUKATOVA, CRAFTSWOMAN:
- We use real cotton, our toys are hypoallergenic. We are happy that our toys are being offered as souvenirs to foreign tourists who will take them to different parts of the world.
This is the second batch of toys with EXPO logo made by Dinara. They are available in expo shops and on the stalls along Nur Zhol Boulevard. Cheap magnets, cups, umbrellas, bags and sports costumes, handmade panels – there are over 200 varieties of souvenirs for the price starting from 350 tenge.

- Astana has been really nice. We want to go to expo later today in the afternoon and check out the different stalls that are gonna be there. So, we are very excited about it.

Expo 2017 has brought together thousands of craftsmen from across Kazakhstan. Potters, jewelers, felters came up with new types of products, developed a unique design that combines traditional and modern elements, and thus increased their competitiveness.

- It takes from one to six months to make such tumar (amulet). It is 300 grams of real silver. Women like it. Men are offered this sort of silver daggers.
