Young scientists of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools in Shymkent presented their inventions
Smart combine-harvester, robot-sweeper and gadgets for melting ice on pedestrian crossings: young scientists of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools in Shymkent presented their inventions. Among the exhibits is ‘the magic world of ether.’ The school students demonstrated how to extract oil from medical herbs and the make soap or cream out of it, and all of this – in school labs. One of the inventions is the robot that cleans sewer pipes and refineries. It was invented by the 9th grade school student Madden Kuanysh. The school student believes that one day this khow-how will be in high demand among large companies.
MADDEN KUANYSH, SCHOOL STUDENT, NAZARBAYEV INTELLECTUAL SCHOOLS:
We decided to invent our own robot that cleans different types of chimneys since there are no analogues of such equipment in the world. I think that the automatic robot that runs entirely on electricity and does not emit any gases harming our environment will be completely clean and efficient for our country and around the world.
However, one could see school students’ smart developments not only in Astana but at all Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools throughout the country as part of the open house. Over 4,000 school students from other schools were welcomed to attend the classes, conduct scientific experiments in laboratories and participate in interactive quizzes. In addition, 100 school students from different regions will be able to visit Expo. The funds for this were raised by NIS students themselves during various workshops and exhibitions.
SVETLANA ISPUSSINOVA, DEPUTY CHAIRWOMAN, AEO NAZARBAYEV INTELLECTUAL SCHOOLS:
This is a very important campaign because, first of all, the kids earned every single penny themselves. They made handicrafts, were selling bakery. They invited teachers and their parents to this event. All the money raised was allocated to sponsor the trip to Astana for Expo and organizing these events. We think that it is our contribution, the contribution of our children for the Independence Day.
