U.S. chooses EXPO-2017 pavilion developer
Kazakh Embassy in Washington officially announced the results of the tender of the U.S. State Department on selection of the organizing company, responsible for the design and functioning of the U.S. National Pavilion at EXPO 2017 in Astana. The Commission unanimously approved the consulting company APCO Worldwide. The Assistant Secretary of State, Nisha Biswal mentioned that EXPO 2017 will be a unique opportunity for the U.S. companies to showcase their technological innovations in clean energy, and a great way to strengthen Kazakh-U.S. ties. By selecting a company in charge of the future pavilion, the United States, in fact, are laucnhing active preparatory works ahead of the expo. According to the senior U.S. diplomat, U.S.s participation has been made possible due to financial support from the private companies interested in development of cooperation with Kazakhstan. U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz highly spoke of the bilateral strategic partnership in energy, nuclear safety and non-proliferation, noting that Kazakhstan is an important partner for the U.S. in these spheres. He also mentioned the timeliness relevance of expo theme in the modern world.
