Kazakh tenor Medet Chotabayev was bestowed the title of the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy
Kazakh tenor Medet Chotabayev was bestowed the title of the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy. The leading actor of Astana Opera got this honorable award for his contribution in strengthening cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Italy, as well as popularizing the Italian language. Medet Chotabayev is the first Kazakh who was awarded the title of a commander. Today, the famous singer performs the main parts of operas of Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti and Tchaikovsky. Medet Chotabayev successfully stages these operas on the world's leading theatres.

- This great responsibility fell on my shoulders which is a step forward. This means that we need to further work hard, praise our homeland and art. Italy and Kazakhstan are cooperating and exchanging experience.
Last year, Kazakhstan and Italy marked 25 years of diplomatic relations. The countries have become reliable investment and trading partners in different areas of the economy.
