New exhibition displays children’s paintings about outer space
Astana hosted an exhibition of drawings. This is the result of a large-scale action dedicated to the jubilee date which is the 60th anniversary of the launch of the legendary spacecraft, the first artificial Earth satellite. Schoolchildren of Baikonur initiated the action by drawing over 5500 sketches. According to the organizers, considering the special status of the Baikonyr complex, which operates in two legal sites, the young creators decided to send their works to the leaders of Kazakhstan and Russia. According to the organizers of the exhibition, the transfer of drawings to Astana and Moscow symbolizes the launch of the satellite and its launch into orbit. Some of the images were presented at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. Approximately 200 works were included in the collection, which was presented to the public in the library of President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
