BEIJING HOSTS WORLD PEACE FORUM
Responding to international security challenges: joint efforts, responsibility and transformation: this was the theme of the Beijing World Peace Forum. Its participants discussed the situation in Afghanistan, Syria and global terrorism threat. Foreign experts noted the enormous contribution of the Kazakh President in ensuring peace and stability. Analysts emphasized the importance of the Astana platform as an effective tool in Syrian crisis settlement.
WU SIKE, CHINA'S SPECIAL ENVOY FOR MIDDLE EAST:
- Kazakhstan is one of the Central Asian countries that play an important role in peaceful development of the region. Extensive work on settling the situation in the Middle East is being accomplished now. This is a huge contribution. Kazakhstan has become a coordinator among Central Asian and East Asian countries as well as the Middle East.
Lu Guang has also noted Kazakhstan’s contribution to the global stability, anti-nuclear initiatives and Nursultan Nazarbayev’s Manifesto.

- Kazakhstan’s contribution to strengthening peace should become an example. Therefore, now your country has support and trust of many countries. In the 1990s, Kazakhstan abandoned its nuclear weapons, and it was a brave decision.
Experts have also emphasized that the world order is changing. According to them, the international forum’s goal is to openly discuss current issues and to respond to international security challenges.
