Uber to pay 1.2 million euros to French taxi group amid widespread protests

The company "Uber" will pay 1 million 200 thousand euros to the French National Union of Taxi for violation of parking rules. As it turned out, their drivers regularly parked at places intended only for licensed taxi drivers, including parking places around train stations and other public places. In this regard, official taxi drivers are holding a strike in Paris for the second day. The service "Uber" allows people to book a private car with driver instead of calling a licensed taxi.
