Kazakhstan’s agenda in UN Security Council
‘Non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction: confidence-building measures’ is the main theme of Kazakhstan's presidency in the UN Security Council. Kazakhstan’s initiatives to build a nuclear-free world will be discussed at the high-level thematic briefing. The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is expected to participate in the event. Country leaders and ministers from a number of countries, representatives of the UN Security Council member states will present their reports. The meeting to be held at the UN Security Council in New York meets the traditional priorities of the Kazakh diplomacy and the foreign policy initiatives. Nursultan Nazarbayev met with U.S. President Donald Trump Tuesday, they agreed on the expansion of cooperation between the two countries. This is the president's seventh state visit to America. Nursultan Nazarbayev is the first head of state in Central Asia, who invited Donald Trump on an official visit.
