New ABC books to be introduced in Kazakh schools from 2021
Preparatory work on the development of the alphabet book ‘Alippe’ has started in Kazakhstan. The textbook will be included in the school curriculum already in January of next year, Kazakh Deputy Minister of Education and Science Sholpan Karinova announced at a press briefing. She said that the ministry has also approved a list of pilot schools in which the textbook would be tested. Given the children’s physiological development, the ABC book will be divided into two parts. The working group included leading linguists, methodologists and teachers who held more than 20 meetings.
“The ‘Alippe’ textbook is developed according to the teaching techniques of Akhmet Baitursynov. The working group composed of scientists and teachers fully supported this project. They noted that this system contains real requirements for schoolchildren’s knowledge, including the sequence of letters and sounds,” said Sholpan Karinova.
