Kazakh Interior Ministry detects over 28,000 breaches of quarantine
Law enforcement officers keep monitoring the observance of quarantine in Kazakhstan. Police officers have recently carried out more than 5,000 joint raids with local executive bodies and healthcare specialists. This was announced by Kazakh Interior Minister Yerlan Turgumbayev during the Government’s meeting. He said that the service sector was also checked. Over 28,000 violators were detected, including more than 4,600 shopping centers, stores and markets as well as 1,700 restaurants, cafes and other recreational facilities. Yerlan Turgumbayev reported that the Kazakh Interior Ministry is ready to strengthen the quarantine.
“The ministry provides assistance to health authorities in monitoring observance with quarantine and restrictive measures. About 10,000 police officers, soldiers of the National Guard and more than a thousand volunteers are involved daily. In accordance with the decisions of the chief sanitary doctors of the regions, four checkpoints and two sanitary points were set up in two regions. In addition, the police cordoned off 299 quarantine facilities. At the request of medical institutions, work is underway to establish the location of contact persons,” the minister said.
Yerlan Turgumbayev added that police officers detected more than 15,000 gross violations when controlling public order. Despite the bans, people in Kazakhstan hold weddings, funerals during the quarantine, recreation areas also work without permission.
