Kazakhstan and Romania discuss cooperation prospects in education

Prospects for enhancing cooperation in the field of education and science were the main topic discussed at the meeting of Kazakh Ambassador to Romania Nurbakh Rustemov with Romanian Minister of Education and Research Monica Cristina Anisie, Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, Rustemov mentioned that Kazakh students are increasingly expressing their desire to study at Romanian universities. In this regard, the parties agreed to expand the legal framework, in particular, to consider the issue of allocating additional grants annually on a reciprocal basis in the context of the forthcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission. In addition, the establishment of cooperation between the higher education institutions of Kazakhstan and Romania will be encouraged.

With a view of intensifying cooperation, the Romanian party expressed interest in holding a video conference with the education ministers of the two countries in the near future.

According to Kazakh Foreign Ministry, 40 Kazakh citizens are currently studying in Romania. In Romanian universities, they study medicine, finance, economics, art, IT, psychology and acting.
