Abai readings start in library of the First President of Kazakhstan
The annual literary challenge “Abai readings” honoring the 175th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet, educator and philosopher, started in the library of the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
According to the organization’s report, the goal of the event that will last until August 20 is the information and image support for the Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity program and the initiative of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on celebration of the 175th anniversary of Abai Kunanbaiuly.
To take part in the challenge, you need to record a video of expressive reading of any works of Abai and nominate other people for the challenge. Then post the video on one of the library’s pages on social media under the hashtags #БиблиотекаЕлбасыАбай, #читаемАбая175 or #ЕлбасыКітапханасыАбай, #АбайдыОқимыз175.
Organizers said that the challenge provides an opportunity to popularize Abai’s literary heritage, form the reading culture and literary taste among the Kazakh youth.
