All the world’s a stage: Kazakh citizens can enjoy exhibitions and theatre online
There is no shortage of concerts and exhibitions in Nur-Sultan, they just shifted online. The Independence Palace press service reported which events are available to visit on their Facebook and Instagram pages (@tauelsizdik_sarayi). They involve “Napoleon. A life, a legend” exhibition as well as “The world through the eyes of the Kimono Master Itiku Kubota” with exhibits from Japan. Visitors will be also interested in a photo exhibition “Bilim” dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abai Kunanbaiuly.
“You can visit the Independence Palace online via our accounts on social media. We prepared online tour across the building and urban master plan of Nur-Sultan. You can also read interesting posts about modern Kazakh artists and their creative activity. I recommend all of those interested in art to become a guest of our live streams with famous masters of applied art,” said spokesperson for exhibition organization department Ainur Abylkhairova.
She said that there are much more visitors to the Independence Palace than before. However, this will never replace the feeling in the gallery, where you get to know and communicate with the same connoisseurs of art, Abylkhairova admitted. Though online job has its advantages too. For example, archival exhibitions were revised.
In addition, opera and ballet plays are also available online. Astana Opera theatre will broadcast exclusive performances almost every day until May 10. These are “Manon” with Kenneth MacMillan’s choreography, “How long is Now?”, “Beethoven – Immortality – Love”, “Coppelia” and many other plays. Earlier, these plays performed by the theater troupe were not broadcast due to copyright restrictions. Permission was obtained to show them online during the quarantine. Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy the masterpieces of world classics!
