Kazakhstan goes online to develop domestic tourism
“Online webinars for tourism” project started in Kazakhstan, reported Aktoty Raimkulova, Kazakh Minister of Culture and Sports at an online briefing. As part of this project, experts of domestic tourism created www.tourismonline.kz website to develop cultural tourism packages. The website also provides online tours of cultural centers, attractions and tourism destinations of the country.

To date, 20 relevant topics with participation of 500 people were discussed at this platform. In particular, sign ups on mountain tourism in Almaty region are available as well as legal advice for travel agents, lending programs for tourism and new approaches in the industry. More than 25,000 people have already watched the clips. The website users are not only people in Kazakhstan, but also in other CIS countries, near and far abroad,” said the minister.

Raimkulova said that Kazakhstan has a huge potential to attract foreign tourists and to become cultural and tourism center of Central Asia, because the country is rich in historical monuments and sacred places. Some of the places are included in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites. During the quarantine, the websites provide online 3D tours of museum-reserves and sites of historical and cultural heritage such as Bozok, Saraishyk, Sauran and Otyrar ancient cities as well as Berel and Issyk kurgans.
