Free Online Counseling is Available in Kazakhstan amid Anxiety and Stress of COVID-19
A new website providing counseling and psychological support to the people of Kazakhstan is now available for use. Users will be able to receive free online consultations with mental health experts amid a general increase of anxiety and stress related to the pandemic and confined lifestyle.
More than 70 therapists and psychiatrists from all across the country are engaged in the project to ensure more people can have access to help when they need it. Most of the online consultations are held in Russian. The Kazakh version of the website will be launched shortly.
“We can suggest certain exercises for reducing stress, fear, anger, anxiety, fatigue and stopping the flow of negative thoughts. These exercises can be done at home,” psychologist Zhuldyzai Aliyeva said.
Psychologists recommend the people, who tend to take negative news to heart, to limit the amount of information inflow, listen to music, read books, exercise at home instead. Most importantly, the experts recommend remembering that this challenging period will end one day.
