Domestic Tourism Gains Momentum
More and more tourists are eager to visit the Kobda district in the Aktobe region, which is famous for its beautiful nature and historical monuments. Last year alone, more than 30,000 tourists visited the Batyrs’ homeland, foreign tourists included.
“10,200 people visited Kobylandy batyr Memorial Complex. Mainly, the tourists are the school and university students from bordering Russia. Most people come from that region. Last year we had tourists from Canada and Germany. Popular video bloggers visited this place on their own initiative as well,” said Zhanargul Bibetova, Head of Entrepreneurship Department of Kobda District of Aktobe Region.
An even greater amount of tourists is expected there. Based on the tourism development strategic plan that is followed by the local authorities, the patriotic center named after Aliya Moldagulova was established in the region. The special route towards the Kobylandy batyr and Abat Baitak Memorial Complexes of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries was developed as well.
“Alkei Margulan called this place an open-air museum. It has a lot of visitors. In the future, as part of the Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity program and the First President of Kazakhstan’s article ‘Seven Facets of the Great Steppe’, more sacral places will be possibly discovered,” said Gulbarshyn Yergaliyeva, Spokesperson of Aktobe Regional Museum of Local History.
By the beginning of a tourist season, which starts this spring, two more tourist facilities will be built.
