Shanghai cooperation organization joins efforts to develop tourism
Members of the tourism working group of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries gathered in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to discuss the ways to boost tourism cooperation.
At the meeting, experts suggested holding a variety of tourism festivals, exhibitions and fairs to develop joint tourist products.
Moreover, the working group members presented the concept of the ‘Eight Wonders of the SCO’ project, which includes cultural and historical heritage sites as well as tourist destinations.
According to the Indian Ministry of Tourism, Venkatesan Dhattareyan the ‘Eight Wonders’ project will help to promote the important attractions of the SCO countries.
Kyrgyz experts offer to include Issyl-Kul, as a wonderful travel destination in Kyrgyzstan. They suggest that tourism officials of the SCO member states promote trips within the SCO area among the citizens.
The meeting participants are convinced that the upcoming SCO summit will be a platform to enhance Kyrgyzstan’s position on a global tourism scale.
