Implementation of modernization of Kazakhstan’s identity program

80 billion Tenge was allocated for implementation of the large-scale Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity program in East Kazakhstan region. Over the past five years, the region has seen many accomplishments. Active archeological excavations were launched in 2016.  One of the most significant discoveries was the new Golden Man on Yeleke Sazy Plateau last summer.

ZEINOLLA SAMASHEV, Ph.D. IN HISTORY:

The corpse of a young nobleman was discovered during excavations of the cemetery on the Yeleke Sazy in the Tarbagatai district. His pants were embroidered with a large number of ornaments. The number of ornaments doesn’t carry much of importance, but the ornaments’ historical value.

The development of archaeological research project has been extended for another three years. As part of the Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity program, the ‘World of Abai’ collection was published in Semey. The 16 books series includes works by Abai as well as other works such as ‘Semipalatinsk Test Site’ by Fyodor Dostoevsky and works which are not made public.

MEDEU SARSEKEYEV, WRITER:

We included other unknown works into the collection, specifically, a book about Amre Kashaubayev. The works of 13 poets who were students of Abai according to Mukhtar Auezov were included in the collection. We are going to publish a book by Nurlybek Baimuratov who was exiled in Siberia for 25 years.

Within last year, nearly 200 projects have been carried out in Pavlodar as part of the Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity program. A presentation of ‘Zher Uyik’ was made. The project aims to promote national arts and crafts. Sessions on the building of yurt or the Kazakh dwelling are given as well as training on the development of local tourism as well as promoting equestrian culture and national traditions.

Today, national values have a special significance (in the context of globalization). People either from the upper or middle-class want to learn and acquire things which belong to our culture and traditions.

The Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity program unites people of different backgrounds.
