Kazakhstan Presents Gastronomic Tours at Exhibition in Moscow

Kazakhstan has presented its tourism opportunities at an international tourism exhibition in Moscow recently.

12 Kazakh companies have showcased a variety of holiday destinations in Kazakhstan, including city tours to Astana and Almaty, eco and ethno tours and excursions to rocket launches at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Deputy Chairperson of Kazakh national company, Kairat Sadvakasov said Kazakhstan is focusing on gastronomic tourism this year as the revival of the national cuisine in the country will help attract a large number of foreign tourists to the country.

“An integral part of any tours is visiting national restaurants. Our national cuisine is currently not very popular worldwide, so we have to actively promote our food through these exhibitions. “

“A gastronomic tour card is being developed currently, which will allow the tourists to see and learn the specific national dishes. We are also involved in the revival of old traditional recipes” Sadvakasov said, adding that the global tourism trend today is gastronomic tours.

Visitors of the exhibition were given Kazakh traditional food such as zhent, kazy and baursaks to try. They also learned about the new tour packages to Kazakhstan.
