New Daily Bus Service Launched Between Astana and Tashkent
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have launched a new daily bus service between Astana and Tashkent on March, 10th this year.
Kazakh transportation company spokesperson, Datka Abzhapparov said the service will initially be once a day. However, the frequency will be increased to four trips daily once the demand rises.
The service covers 1,646 kilometers of road between Astana-Tashkent in about 28 hours.
Experts said that the new bus route will help boost tourism and trade development between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan besides providing benefits for passengers to visit their families and friends in the two countries.
The new route is the seventh bus link between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. There are regular bus trips connecting Tashkent with Almaty, Shymkent, Turkistan and Kyzylorda regions.
Apart from bus services, there are also flights from Astana and Almaty to Tashkent.
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan totaled US$2.5 billion last year, which is 25% higher compared to 2017.
