Festival of Traditional sports
The best athletes in the traditional equestrian sports were revealed in Astana. Qualifying matches for Tenge Ilu and Zhamby Atu were held as part of the “Uly Dala Ruhy” festival. The winners will continue to fight for the title of the best in the final.

- The same competition is being held in a southern region of the country in Shymkent. The festival is held in two cities. Games such as Audaryspak, Tenge Ilu and Zhamby Atu are held in Astana, while Kazakh Wrestling, Togyzkumalak and Asyk Atu are held in Shymkent.
Over 30 sportsmen arrived at the Festival of Traditional Games from the southern region of Kazakhstan. The team from Turkistan region won in the difficult fight.
GALYMZHAN IZZHANOV, COMPETITION WINNER:
- The final of the festival will be held in September. I hope to show a high results and after the victory to raise the flag of Turkistan region. Another goal that I have is to raise the flag of Kazakhstan at the Olympics in Traditional Sports in 2021.
The final will be held between September 11 and September 16 with participation of over 700 athletes from all regions of Kazakhstan. They will compete in several sports, such as Kokpar, Baiga, Audaryspak, Kazakh Wrestling, Zhamby Atu, Togyzkumalak and Asyk Atu.
