Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan: Cooperation of universities
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are expanding cooperation in education which is aimed at exchange of students and teachers, and implementing the joint projects. Recently, the universities of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have signed several memorandums and agreements on cooperation. According to official statistics, during the 2016-2017 academic years, 50 Kazakh citizens had been trained in Azerbaijan universities and 160 students from Azerbaijan had studied in Kazakhstan.
ZAFAR KURBANOV, DEAN, BAKU HIGHER OIL SCHOOL:
- We signed an agreement with the Kazakh-British Technical University. The signed document implies the joint conduct of scientific research and cultural events. We plan to establish cooperation with other universities in Kazakhstan.
Many universities have English language instruction. This trend is observed in the universities of both countries. This is considered as a good indicator of the quality of education.
FATIMA DURSUNOVA, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, BAKU STATE UNIVERSITY:
- Baku State University has been cooperating with universities of Kazakhstan for a long time. We also began to cooperate with regional universities in Kazakhstan. We have signed a contract with Kyzylorda University named after KorkytAta. And the most recent university with which we signed a cooperation agreement is the Engineering-Technological University named after Esenov.
The Abai Center for Kazakh Culture with the partnership of the Eurasian National University was established at the Baku University. Linguists translate the Kazakh works and organize creative evenings. Collections of poems by Magzhan Zhumabayev and the Abai novel, written by Mukhtar Auezov will be released.
