Turkistan: Cradle of Turkic World
Turkistan will become a city with a developed infrastructure and wide tourism opportunities. Residents of Turkey believe that with acquisition of a new status, the centuries-old holy city will attract even more foreign tourists. Since ancient times, pilgrims hurried to visit the cultural capital of the Turkic world. A group of Turkish officials on a working visit in Kazakhstan traveled to the holy ancient Kazakh city, the homeland of poet and philosopher Khoja Ahmet Yassawi. A must-see place for them is the scientist’s mausoleum. Yassawi was a spiritual mentor of famous figures such as Mansur Ata, Abdimalik ata, Ahi Evran, Haji Bektash, Jalaluddin Rumi and Yunus Emre.
