President Nazarbayev’s recent state-of-the-nation address has been translated into Uzbek
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s recent state-of-the-nation address has been translated into Uzbek. Members of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan have already read the important document. Scientists of the neighboring state highlighted some of the important priorities described in the address, particularly the development of human capital and education. Uzbek experts support Kazakhstan’s efforts to reintroduce the Latin alphabet in the Kazakh language and approximate the Kazakh terminologies to the international standard. This will bring the two countries closer, the Uzbek scientists believe.
BAHROM ABDUKHALIMOV, VICE PRESIDENT, ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF UZBEKISTAN:
- This alphabet is important for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, because our history cannot be imagined without the Latin alphabet, since many books, materials, archival documents were written exactly in the Latin script. Therefore, the experience of Kazakhstan and the experience of Uzbekistan will help the two states. Cooperation between the Uzbek and Kazakh scientists in transitioning to the Latin alphabet is necessary for both countries.
