Nur-Sultan hosted UN Symposium on Peacekeeping Technologies

The capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan hosted the fifth United Nations (UN) Symposium on Partnership and Technologies for Peacekeeping.

Discussions on strengthening and improving the republic’s future cooperation in peacekeeping with the UN were held during the event.

The international community has continuously recognized Kazakhstan for its peacekeeping achievements. The support of the anti-nuclear movement and the mission of the Kazakh peacekeeping battalion show that Kazakhstan is a state that supports the principles of peace and global security.

The Under-Secretary-General for UN Peace Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix said that Kazakhstan has a potential to help the UN with qualified officers, including women.

According to Kazakh Defense Minister, Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev the mission adheres to the policy promoted by Kazakh First President Nursultan Nazarbayev aimed to perform the country’s commitments and obligations within the United Nations.

Earlier, the UN symposia on peacekeeping took place in Italy, Austria, South Korea and Germany.
