Experts View: Nazarbayev Led Kazakhstan to Accomplish Many Successes

The leadership of the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev has led the Central Asian country to accomplish many successes that is known worldwide.

Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications of the United Nations (UN), Alison Smale said the recent political changes in the country will lead the nation to new progress.

“Great strides have been made in the last decade as one would hope for a country that has free access and control of its own assets. I have been to Nur-Sultan once and I have been to Almaty. I was very impressed,” the former employee of the New York Times and International Herald Tribune said.

Meanwhile, member of the House of Representatives of the Lower House of Japan Parliament, Naokazu Takemoto said Nazarbayev left a great legacy for the future generation to establish an internal and balanced foreign policy.

He said the First President of Kazakhstan has done significant efforts to develop and improve the country.

“He has also contributed to peace in the world. Members of the Japanese parliament are well aware of President Nazarbayev’s efforts in disarmament. That is why several years ago my colleagues and I proposed to award Nazarbayev with the Nobel Peace Prize,” Takemoto added.

Kazakhstan has seen an unprecedented event on March 19th, 2019 when Nazarbayev announced his resignation after leading the country as the First President for three decades since gaining independence the USSR.

He retains the position of chairman of Kazakhstan’s Security Council and remains a member of the Constitutional Council.

Nazarbayev also continues to head the country’s ruling political party, Nur Otan. He is succeeded by the former speaker of the Upper House of Parliament, Qasym-Jomart Toqayev.
