Nur Otan’s 18 Congress Focuses on Improving Social Well-Being in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s ruling party, Nur Otan held its 18th congress in Astana. The meeting was chaired by President of Kazakhstan and Nur Otan leader, Nursultan Nazarbayev and attended by 1,179 delegates.

At the meeting, the President provided a summary of the party’s work which has been done in the past 20 years.

He also mentioned that the Government has allocated more than 45% of the Republic Budget funds to the social sector.

Nursultan Nazarbayev said 20 years is a short time period in historical terms but Kazakhstan has adopted bold and important reforms to strengthen Kazakhstan’s independence and built a strong country.

“Otherwise, Kazakhstan would have been left behind in the world’s development towards progress. With these purposed in mind, the Nur Otan Party has justified the people’s confidence by turning into a unique political power capable of ensuring the country’s consistent development,” the President said at the congress.

Nursultan Nazarbayev has instructed the Government officials to complete the educational reforms and introduce the three-language policy. He informed the Congress that there will be centers established throughout the country to monitor the implementation of the state programs in Kazakhstan.

The first Nur Otan congress was held 20 years ago to lay the foundation for the party which has become the largest and most powerful political organization in Kazakhstan.

At the meeting, the party has introduced a new political program titled ‘The Society of Well Being: 10 Goals of the Decade’ until 2030 at the Congress.

The program outlines the party’s priority shift from economic development to social development in the upcoming 20 years. The main goal of the new program is to improve the well-being of the people of Kazakhstan.
