The President of Kazakhstan paid an official visit to Finland
The President of Kazakhstan paid an official visit to Finland. Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinistö. During the talks, the two leaders discussed the new opportunities for using Finnish investments and technology in modernization projects of the Kazakh economy. The parties highlighted the priority cooperation sectors, such as the processing industry, innovative and science-based enterprises and export-oriented production facilities.
NURSULTAN NAZARBAYEV, PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN:
- According to international experts, we successfully hosted EXPO, attended by Mister President. We selected 100 best projects themed Future Energy, including 14 Finnish projects. We established the AIFC at the EXPO site. We invited Finnish businesses to participate in the AIFC where the English Law and the English language are used. There are preferences for those who operate there.
SAULI NIINISTÖ, PRESIDENT OF FINLAND:
- We cooperate in many sectors. Young people from Kazakhstan study in Finland as part of the exchange programs and receive higher and medical education here. We are happy to share our information. I always highly appreciate Mister President’s views in many sectors, including geopolitical. I find our conversations and exchange of opinions very useful, and I would like to thank my counterpart for that.
During the visit, Kazakh and Finnish businessmen signed about 20 intergovernmental memorandums and 10 agreements worth US$600 million.
