Cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan
Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are strengthening cooperation in judicial field. Chairmen of the supreme courts of the two countries signed a cooperation memorandum in Dushanbe. The parties discussed a wide range of topics related to the judicial and legal reform. They stressed that over the past 11 years, Tajikistan adopted and implemented three programs aimed at establishing independent judicial authority, creating access to justice, increase the role of courts in human rights protection and provide guarantees of judicial protection.
At the meeting, the parties reached a mutual agreement on implementing programs aimed at human rights protection and freedom as well as sharing judicial practices, strengthening the independence of judicial authorities and mutual exchange information. The participants stressed that cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan has reached a new level thanks to the efforts of the countries’ presidents.
