Kazakhstan-France: 10 years of strategic cooperation
Kazakhstan and France are marking the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership. France is one of the largest economic partners of Kazakhstan in the European Union. Cooperation between the countries is not limited to trade as the states are working closely in education and culture. The Abai-Verne scholarship program has allowed 100 Master’s and Doctoral students from Kazakhstan to study in France at the expense of the host country. The countries are also strengthening cultural cooperation. Francophonie Days are held in Kazakhstan every year. Recently, the works of the famous French post-impressionist artist Paul Serusier were presented in the National Museum. The Kazakh artists also frequently exhibit their works in France.
PHILIPPE MARTINET, FRENCH AMBASSADOR TO KAZAKHSTAN:
- Today marks the end of the whole month of celebrations, including events and meetings, such as awarding the Abai-Verne scholarships. We did a lot this year together with our Kazakh colleagues. We are very grateful to Kazakhstan. We invite everyone to visit France.
