Central Asian countries cooperation with China
Beijing hosted a dialogue for the partners of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as well as the third China – Central Asia Cooperation forum.
Representatives of over seventy non-governmental and charity organizations of the SCO member countries, diplomats and scientists discussed cooperation prospects in the fields of education, healthcare and science. Also, as part of the forum, the officials of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries signed a cooperation memorandum with the Council of Kyrgyzstan’s Ethnic Assembly and Uzbekistan’s International Charity Foundation. According to the forum participants, the meeting’s main goal is to strengthen business partnership and cultural ties between non-governmental organizations of the SCO countries.
SUN TSIZINWOO, VICE PRESIDENT, CHINESE PEOPLE’S ASSOCIATION FOR FRIENDSHIP WITH FOREIGN COUNTRIES:
- We need to promote people’s diplomacy and strengthen ties with the countries along the One Belt, One Road route. We treat these meetings as a priority. They help the people of the SCO member countries to understand each other better, move forward together and to develop joint strategic cooperation which is extremely important for the establishment of the Community of Common Destiny.
MUSHARRAFA SHARIPOVA, SENIOR STAFF, TAJIK ASSOCIATION FOR FRIENDSHIP WITH FOREIGN COUNTRIES:
- It is obvious that only cultural and humanitarian projects allow people to learn more about each other, understand each other better, treat each other better and become more respectful towards each other. And I think that in this respect, the Shanghai spirit that declares cooperation and development for all the partners, allows all the partners to become more prosperous, through cooperation that benefits everyone.
