100 New Faces Of Kazakhstan Winner: Bolat Sultankulov Cultivates Skin Cells
Bolat Sultankulov, one of the winners of the second stage of the 100 New Faces of Kazakhstan project, is specializing in the cultivation of skin cells.
The geneticist is a pioneer of the new cosmetology industry in Kazakhstan. He came up with the idea to open his own center three years ago.
“I have always wanted to open my own lab. I am proving myself that I can develop this area on my own. I admit that it is hard but it is possible,” he said.
Sultankulov conducts his research on skin cells in two laboratories located in Almaty and Nur-Sultan.
He said the process to cultivate the cells include growing and multiplying them in a small refrigerator and covering the cells with a special reagent every day.
“Then the cells are transferred to cosmetologists who use these cells in their work. What does this result in? After 12 to 18 months of use, the patient’s skin starts to improve,” he added.
The cultivated skin cells are used to rejuvenate the skin and remove scars.
Currently, Sultankulov and his team are actively working on several projects, which include creating polymers, particularly special fillers that are injected under the skin to increase its volume on specific areas of the face as well as certain parts of the body.
They are also currently finding the solution of hair loss.
