100 New Faces of Kazakhstan: Anvara Sadykova
Anvara Sadykova is named as one of the winners of the second stage of the 100 New Faces of Kazakhstan project.
She is a senior teacher at the Kazakh State Academy of Choreography who created new forms of Kazakh dance called the ‘Neo-Kazakh Choreography.’
Sadykova became involved in the art profession for personal reasons.
“In the past, an internationally known famous dancer Makhmut Issimbayev held a concert in Balkhash city. After the performance, my mother asked me to go up the stage to give him flowers. When I gave the flowers to him, he lifted me and kissed me on the forehead. My mother believes that this was a blessing,” she said.
She also wrote some 20 dance-related articles and scripts for three local films. One of the films was chosen as the winner of the Kulager national cinema award.
“The film’s main idea was to provide an insight into the work performed by personalities who contributed to the professional dance development,” Sadykova said, adding that she believes that choosing dancing as her profession was the right decision for her.
