Kazakh and Chinese universities will implement joint research projects. During a working visit to China the rector of the Gumilyov Eurasian National University Yerlan Sydykov discussed joint projects with the management of the Peking University.
GUAN GUIHAI, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL AND STRATEGIC STUDIES, PEKING UNIVERSITY:
- Experts of the two countries need to conduct joint research on implementation of the sustainable development concept. That’s why we need to establish partnerships in this area in the first place.
Therefore, Yerlan Sydykov proposed organizing joint archeological excavations for a deeper research of the Great Silk Road history. The rector also met with the activists of the Association of Kazakh Students in China who conduct an active cultural and research work. During the meeting in the embassy, the students of the Beijing branch of the association discussed Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s social initiatives and the address to the nation. Fourteen thousand students from Kazakhstan study in China, of whom 2,500 go to universities in Beijing.

- I am really glad that President Nazarbayev initiated allocation of a significant number of scholarships and that the technical education is gaining momentum. Manufacturing and production should be expanded in Kazakhstan.
