Kazakhstan and Hungary: Strategic cooperation
Kazakhstan and Hungary are developing mutually beneficial ties. Within the first half of this year, the trade turnover between the two countries made up US$350 million. The figure has almost doubled compared to 2016. Last year, the countries traded US$188 million. Hungarian businessmen intend to increase investments in Kazakhstan's economy including sectors as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, tourism, culture and education. Hungarian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Andras Barani spoke to the local journalists on the results of the two states’ cooperation in 2017. Direct flight between Astana and Budapest were launched in in June. The fill rate made up 94% in October alone. According to the airline, the connection has become one of the successful routes among the newly launched flights. In addition, Hungary took an active part in Astana EXPO 2017. The country’s pavilion was awarded the silver prize. Over 300,000 people visited the pavilion.

- Kazakhstan is the only strategic partner in the Central Asian region, and Hungary is Kazakhstan's only strategic partner in the Eastern Central Europe which has 16 states. This shows that there is a special relationship between our states.
