Kazakhstan is increasing its transit and export potential
Kazakhstan is increasing its transit and export potential. The country forms favorable conditions for the growth of international transport and logistics operations. In addition to modernizing the country's transport infrastructure, the customs regulation is of importance at the legislative level. After the ratification of the customs code of the EAEU, the national code is being improved. The amendments are based on the simplification of customs administration and the acceleration of all procedures related to the preparation of accompanying documentation. Among the main innovations of the code is the transition to an electronic declaration. The process of customs clearance on Kazakhstan border will be accelerated 8 times and will last 4 hours. In addition, the updates include automation of business processes at customs and the introduction of the single window system. According to the bill, new opportunities are opening up for participants in foreign economic activity. Experts say that they are aimed at optimizing costs.
KUAT RAKHIMOV, DIRECTOR, CUSTOMS METHODOLOGY DEPARTMENT, STATE REVENUE COMMITTEE OF KAZAKHSTAN:
- In general, taking into account the fact that we are shortening the time for processing, we have reduced the list of documents necessary for the processing. For example, we have reduced documents up to 3 for exports. Accordingly, considering the fact that we are reducing the requirements for the provision of documents, we are shortening the time of registration. We expect that the new code will reflect all the requirements that are necessary as part of international trade.
MIKHAIL BORTNIK, MEMBER OF SENATE, UPPER HOUSE OF KAZAKH PARLIAMENT:
- All these things are connected with our national state program, especially the Digital Kazakhstan program. The maximum transfer of customs to digits will solve many problems for business and customs. This will allow us to efficiently calculate the issues related to filling the budget for import, export and creating the most convenient conditions for the transit of customs goods through Kazakhstan.
