Kazakhstan and UK: strategic partnership
According to Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Kazakhstan will strengthen its strategic partnership with the UK. During his working visit to London, the Kazakh foreign minister met with leaders of a number of British companies. Moreover, the Kazakh diplomats took part in the annual meeting of the Advisory Council of the Eurasian Council on Foreign Relations. The independent think tank specializes in studying development topics of Central Asian states and their relations with European countries.

The head of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Office will dedicate a speech about priorities of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the UN Security Council at the Royal Institute of International Affairs "Chatham House" in January next year. He explained the implementation of Nursultan Nazarbayev's international initiatives.

The rise of China, the kind of relationship that Europe is trying to establish, the reconnection with Central Asia, Caucasus, the belt road initiative, energy relationships, I mean Kazakhstan sits right in the middle.
Kairat Abdrakhmanov met with members of the British Parliament as well as with members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Kazakhstan. The politicians highlighted the high dynamics of development of Kazakh-British relations and showed their readiness to support implementation of joint projects.

A number of joint projects between the state and the private sector as well as Kazakhstan’s increased role in the region and in the world were discussed at a meeting with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Suma Chakrabarti. Investments in the Kazakh economy and opening of new industries were discussed at separate meetings with leaders of the companies like Independent Power Corporation and United Green.
KAIRAT ABDRAKHMANOV, KAZAKH FOREIGN MINISTER:
- The UK pays attention to our cooperation as part of the UN Security Council. Of course, three modernization programs that are implemented in our country by the initiative of President of Kazakhstan: political and economic modernization as well as the Modernization of Public Consciousness program.
The Kazakh Foreign Minister also met with young people studying in the UK. Kairat Abdrakhmanov highlighted that students are an important asset for the country which is facing strategic goals to modernize in all areas.
