Republican children's forum
As part of the World Children's Day celebration, Astana hosted an annual Children's Forum. This year 320 school children from all regions of the country took part in the festival. The participants included the leaders of youth public organizations, winners of republican and international intellectual Olympiads and talent competitions. In two days, the participants demonstrated their talents, shared ideas and discussed important topics that concern them during the 13 discussion sessions of the forum. The organizers highlighted that the active youth is ready and committed to realize their ideas.
TANZHARYK SHARIPTAI, ALMATY STUDENT:
- I propose creating a Republican youth parliament by joint efforts of school children and adults. Its main goal will to address challenges in education, sports and tourism.
NURBEK ORSHUBEKOV, CHAIRMAN, COMMITTEE FOR PROTECTION OF CHILDREN'S RIGHTS:
- Following the results of last year's forum, we received 73 recommendations. 36 recommendations have already been implemented. They concern protection of child and family, child and law, no discrimination as well as topics of independent monitoring, children's leisure, child and environment.
