Development of Customs and Logistic infrastructure
A new customs and logistics center has opened on the Kazakhstan-China border, at the "Kalzhat" checkpoint. The project is implemented as part of the public-private partnership. The amount of investments is 10 billion tenge. The center lets inspect the cargo vehicles within 30 minutes, so you can measure the weight, do x-ray inspection and check documents without waiting in the line.
GOSMAN AMRIN, DEPUTY, CHAIRMAN, STATE REVENUE COMMITTEE:
- The customs zone is expanded to service up to 30 cars. The old customs point is not able to process more than two vehicles during this time.
The center works on the principle of one stop shop: there are customs, banks, sanitary and veterinary services, office buildings, and warehouses.
YERLAN DIKHANBAYEV, DIRECTOR GENERAL, EUROTRANSIT LOGISTIC LLP:
- A vehicle can receive the full range of customs services, which was not possible before. Previously, cargo vehicles had to go to Almaty. Now they are serviced on the border. Having cleared the cargo, they go to the final destination. It saves the time.
ALIM ZHUSANBAYEV, HEAD OF KALZHAT CUSTOMS POST:
- This logistics center is a golden bridge between foreign trade participants. Previously, as per the passport, we had to service 120 cars per day, but in fact we managed to process only 40 or 50.
The new complex has greater potential. It will be able to service up to 100 trucks per day, and will increase the transit volumes by 7 times by 2020. Improvement of infrastructure will certainly help to achieve this goal, experts say.
