Industry experts are confident about the great prospects of tourism development in the Pavlodar region. One the main directions are the development of medical and recreational areas. A large number of saline lakes are concentrated in the region, which have abundant reserves of therapeutic mud. For example, the Maraldy Lake is spread over five and a half thousand hectares. Every summer thousands of tourists visit the lake.
ZHANNA ASSYLOVA, STAFF, MARALDY RESORT ZONE:
- The tourists are from Russia and Almaty, not only from Pavlodar. Yesterday people even thanked us and people from Almaty came with families for a week to rest. The lake is healing because of mud. The clay is blue and black. People coat themselves completely and receive procedures.
This year, local authorities ennobled the territory. More than 500 meters of the coastline have been transformed. Now the resort zone has a pier, sidewalks and shadow canopies. It is planned to build a year-round sanatorium.
