IMPRESSIONS FROM EXPO 2017
Grandiose, futuristic, and modern, this is, indeed, a look into the future, deputy of German Bundestag Jurgen Klimke tells about his trip to Kazakhstan. The German politician attended the opening ceremony of EXPO 2017 in Astana. He said it was a grandiose show. The MP was impressed by the EXPO town. He visited all expo pavilions. Nur Alem sphere inspired him the most. The German politician has also noted that the EXPO in Astana is being held at a high level.
JURGEN KLIMKE, DEPUTY OF GERMAN BUNDESTAG:
- Astana has changed a lot. This is a futuristic city now. I was impressed by the huge glowing sphere. I visited many pavilions, and Kazakhstan’s pavilion, I think, is the most interesting. Almost all types of energy are represented here. Of course, I liked the German pavilion, where we share our experience. I want to note that this exhibition is raising the most important issues of our time: how to preserve nature, why it is necessary to abandon traditional sources of energy and switch to alternative ones. It's great!
Member of Azerbaijani parliament Rasim Musabekov was also impressed by the exhibition. He said that expo dragged international attention to Kazakhstan that has previously hosted a number of large scale events.
RASIM MUSABEKOV, DEPUTY OF AZERBAIJANI PARLIAMENT:
- Kazakhstan has massive reserves of oil, coal and uranium and nevertheless, is hosting future energy exhibition. I think it is important that the country doesn’t exclusively associate its development with mining and delivery of energy resources to the world markets, but thinks about the future, high technologies and the environment.
EXPO 2017 is earning recognition of Kazakhstan as the country that contributes to the improvement of the environmental situation, director of British Expertise International Nigel Peter says. The company is the leading trade association for exporters.
NIGEL PETERS, DIRECTOR, BRITISH EXPERTISE INTERNATIONAL:
- Kazakhstan is oil and gas business market but there are so many opportunities and particularly, in the areas of renewable energy, infrastructure, of course, whole range of government services, good governance and that is a real strength for the UK companies we are very pleased that the UK has one of very large pavilions there.
