EXPO TOURISTS ARRIVE IN ASTANA
A large group of South Korean tourists will be coming to Astana. They are planning to visit the international specialized exhibition. They have learnt about the large-scale event at Seoul pavilion presentation, where Kazakh tour operators took part. They were offered tickets with a discount. Designer from Busan Yong Chung Jae is going to visit expo as well. She is visiting Kazakhstan for the first time. Chung Jae is planning to visit Almaty and Astana in six days. She is also bringing her friends and family.
YONG CHONG JAE, TOURIST:
- I am so excited and curious about Kazakhstan because I am visiting it for the first time. I heard there are many attractions, and that the President is paying particular attention to the expo. I am planning to visit Kazakhstan many times. I believe that your county is welcoming and friendly.
Kazakhstan has become one of the most attractive tourist destinations in China as well. The Chinese are willing not only to visit the Astana EXPO 2017 but also the largest cities in Kazakhstan. University student Xu Wei arrived in the Kazakh Embassy to apply for a tourist visa to Kazakhstan. He will be traveling with his family.
XU WEI, TOURIST, CHINA:
- It is going to be my first time in Kazakhstan. As the future engineer, I am very interested in Astana EXPO 2017. It is the place where you can see all the latest innovative developments. I also can’t miss the chance to visit the home country of Dimash Kudaibergen and attend his concert. Expo also features concerts of other world famous celebrities.
Xu Wei and his family got the tickets very quickly. Visa processing did not take much time either. Kazakh Embassy in Beijing is working extra hours now.
BOLAT SARLYBAYEV, HEAD OF CONSULAR DEPARTMENT, KAZAKH EMBASSY IN CHINA:
- We work on Saturdays and Sundays. There are lots of visa applicants. The Chinese are interested in the Astana EXPO 2017 and various cultural programs. We tried to create comfortable conditions for potential tourists.
Consular services have taken measures to accelerate and simplify visa processing not only in Beijing but also in Kazakhstan. As early as in December 2015, Kazakhstan and China signed an agreement on granting group visas. Urgent visa is processed just in five days.
