CANADIAN WRITER PUBLISHES A BOOK ABOUT ASTANA
A book about Astana was presented in Canada. Manitoba University professor Frank Albo’s book ‘Astana: Architecture, Myths and Destiny’ became a bestseller. The first edition has been sold out strightaway. Experts say that the author unraveled the secret of the young capital’s success.

Delivering speech in front of the meeting participants, Kazakh ambassador to Canada Konstantin Zhigalov noted the symbolism of the first Canadian book about Kazakhstan written ahead of Astana EXPO 2017.

- In this case, not Kazakhs but the Canadian is telling about Kazakhstan and its young capital city that is marking its 20th anniversary soon. The Canadian architectural historian wrote a large number of such bestsellers.
Culture Minister of Manitoba, Rochelle Squires, Finance Minister, Cameron Friesen, the deputies of the province's parliament and public members expressed their admiration for the architecture of the Kazakh capital city.

The author has also presented the official website of the book and a video about Astana. Professor Frank Albo shared his impressions about Kazakhstan and said that the architectural structure the Schoolchildren Palace was the most attractive and interesting for him.

- The Palace of the Schoolchildren because it contains a lot about, to me I think the most important thing about its architecture is to edify the youth, and there is a building as gorgeous.
The book by Professor Frank Albo about Astana will also be presented in London, Washington and Ottawa. Kazakhstani people have a chance to get a world bestseller and meet with the author in person as part of EXPO 2017. The historian will visit Astana during the major international event.
