KAZAKHSTAN STRENGTHENS TIES WITH SAUDI ARABIA
Petrochemicals, agriculture, peaceful use of atomic energy and infrastructure projects have become the main spheres of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia. In Riyadh, Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov held talks with his counterpart Adel al-Jubair, Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid al-Faleh and a management group of the Saudi companies investing in Kazakhstan's economy.
TURKI BIN MOHAMMED, PRINCE OF SAUDI ARABIA:
- Kazakh President’s last year visit to Saudi Arabia gave an impetus to strengthening ties in business sphere between our countries. Kazakh entrepreneurs are more accessible; we have established close cooperation with them. We also want to invest in Kazakhstan’s economy; we have already prepared a concrete business plan for that.
Saudi Arabia is interested in purchasing meat in Kazakhstan. Saudi investors are financing a launch of a new poultry farm in the South Kazakhstan region. At the meeting, Kazakh diplomats told about Kazakhstan's work in the UN Security Council and the Astana process.
BAKHYT BATYRSHAYEV, KAZAKH AMBASSADOR TO SAUDI ARABIA:
- At present, part of the Arab world, the Islamic world is torn by conflicts. Kazakhstan should be stable in this situation. We want to share a recipe for our stability and talk about how to increase cooperation and, first of all, how to effectively interact in the economy.
The head of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for taking part in Expo 2017 and said that the Kingdom's pavilion will become one of the largest and most interesting ones.
