Results of the half-century research on "Alash" movement have been presented in Astana. The collection of books was presented as part of the conference "The fate of the book - the fate of society". The anthology includes: the trilogy "My pain, my pride - Alash", literary historical research "Akinak", and a collection of official materials of the liberation movement. The author of the work is the famous Kazakh scientist Tursyn Zhurtbai.
TURSYN ZHURTBAI, AUTHOR:
- This is the work of my life. I have started my research on Alash movement right after school. Today's presentation will open new pages of our history, new details of those tragic events. Publications are translated into Russian, which means that even more people will be able to learn about Alash movement and the main characters of my books.
The research tells about dreadful fate of representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia: Alikhan Bokeikhanov, Akhmet Baitursynov, Magzhan Zhumabayev, Myrzhakyp Dulatov and many other outstanding personalities. The author has done a thorough and extensive analysis of party and government orders, judicial opinions and indictments, questionnaires and autobiographies. Relatives’ and friends’ reminiscence were particularly important for the author. Tursyn Zhurtbai has also analyzed the works of other historians. The anthology presents more detailed and extensive research on Alash movement, it opens up new facts about the Alash leaders’ fight for decolonization and democracy, unity of the people and the future of the Kazakh land among the most advanced states of the world.
