KAZAKHSTAN BUILDS UP EXPORT CAPACITIES
Kazakhstan is increasing food exports. Grains, cereals and sweets and meat products are in demand abroad. Kazakhstan is actively building feedlot sites to increase meat products’ supply. In Urzhar district in the eastern Kazakhstan alone, the number of feedlot sites reached 400 units. The largest one is the cattle-breeding base in Algabas peasant farm. The farmers increased the number of livestock by several times just in 6 years. This year, they are planning to open 15 more cattle-breeding bases as part of Sybaga program.

- One of the main goals for us now is to build up export capacity. We are ready to sell meat to China or Russia. The demand for products is very high.

- The government is actively supporting the opening of such feeding grounds. There are many them in our district. There are 300 cattle heads in one of them, 300,000 heads in another.
Kazakhstani chicken eggs are also in high demand abroad. Egg producers increased export shipments by 12.5 times last year. Eggs are exported not only to the neighboring states such as Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, but also to far abroad - the United Arab Emirates. Agreements were reached with China as well.
Wheat processing plant in Atbasar has also become export-oriented. Its wheat is quite competitive in the world market and in high demand abroad. 500 million tenge has been invested in the enterprise six months ago. The newly modernized workshop let the plant to increase production. The plant produces fine wheat, monitors the work of the weigh station and ensures efficient dispatch.

- We received 115,000 tons, almost 50% of which was exported to such Central Asian countries as Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. We ship through Aktau port. We export barley to Iran.
The enterprise set ambitious plans for further development. This spring, they will build a tank farm with the capacity of 3,600 tons and a workshop for production of barley, wheat, pearl barley, corn with a capacity of more than 2,000 tons per year.
