Kazakhstani and Vietnamese agrarians strengthen cooperation
The Vietnamese agrarians intend to enter the Eurasian market and establish cooperation with the Kazakhstani companies. Last year, an agreement on a free trade zone was signed between the EAEU and Vietnam. In addition, a new sales market will be opened for Kazakhstani agricultural manufacturers. The Vietnamese entrepreneur Chan Thi Chang Nhu believes that such a partnership will mutually benefit both parties. The businesswoman cultivates such exotic fruits as passion fruit, mango, papaya, lime and pomelo. The Vietnamese company offers 10 types of dried fruits. According to the businesswoman, jointly with the partner, the company exports the food mainly to the countries of the Middle East and Iran by sea.
CHAN THI CHANG NHU, ENTREPRENEUR
- We are thinking about Kazakhstan. On next November we will attend “World Food” in Almaty, Kazakhstan. And I hope our products can present about our culture, our country and our food to Kazakhstani people too. Hope they will like it and support us.
A memorandum of cooperation is currently functioning between Almaty and Ho Chi Minh cities. This opens another opportunity for the Vietnamese commodity producers. The company Saigon TPC has already shown interest in sunflower seeds and sunflower oil produced in Kazakhstan. There are only transport and logistics issues left to be solved. According to the experts, the way to Southeast Asia lies through the Chinese port of Lianyungang. And now it is necessary to use the potential of local Kazakh-Chinese international logistics companies.
CHAN VIN NYUNG, DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF TRADE DEPARTMENT, HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM
- At present, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Vietnam totals $366 million. $10 million out of them account for Ho Chi Minh City. Our population is 10 million people. There are many businessmen. We built up our export, but we want to import Kazakhstani goods.
Kazakhstani goods are appreciated here. The Vietnamese businessmen stress that the goods are of good quality. So, the volume of exports of the Kazakh products to Vietnam will grow. According to experts, by 2020 the trade turnover between the EAEU and Vietnam will grow by 2.5 times to $10 billion.
